Stephen Scandurro, Personal Injury, Commercial & Real Estate Litigation Attorney

Stephen (Steve) co-founded the firm in 1997, after starting his career in 1990 in Washington, D.C. at a national energy law firm. Steve has broad litigation experience in personal injury litigation and complex commercial disputes. His personal injury experience has included claims for clients with extensive burn, brain, and spinal cord injuries arising out of vehicle collisions, industrial accidents, and other casualties. Steve has also represented plaintiffs and defendants in a range of complex commercial litigation disputes, partnership disputes, real estate litigation, and eminent domain cases. Steve has successfully tried numerous jury and judge trials in Louisiana State and federal courts for plaintiffs, defendants, and class action plaintiffs. He still finds pride in a judge’s comment in a difficult case that he’d made chicken salad from “unusual” ingredients.

Steve grew up in south Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, on the Mississippi River delta. He is a 1985 magna cum laude graduate of Tulane University and a 1990’s honors graduate of George Washington University’s National Law Center. He served as the Executive Articles Editor of the Journal of Law and Economics, on the board and as a member of GW’s Moot Court Board, a trial advocacy team, and the law school’s representative to the university’s student association. During the law school term, Steve clerked at the Pennsylvania Avenue corporate general counsel’s office for General Electric Company. Steve is admitted to practice before all Louisiana State and federal courts, the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, the U.S. Supreme Court, and was admitted to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania bar. Steve has devoted substantial time and energy to general pro bono legal services, the Civil Service League, the Plaquemines Animal Welfare Society, and the American Cancer Society, among others—when he is not passionately renovating historic New Orleans homes. Steve is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell.
